Messiah has an active youth program. Our Grades 6-12 Youth Group meets weekly from September through May with the exception of Second Sundays, and special activities are offered during the summer. They attend the Youth Quake/Youth Zone each year in Pittsburgh during January and participate in World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine in March to raise money in the fight to end world hunger and poverty, and a number of fun activities are offered. On the Second Sunday of each month, children in Grades 3-12 join together for a light supper followed by group time: BYG (Building Youth Groups) for Grades 3-6; Making Disciples for Grades 7-8 and their adult mentors; and JOY (Just Older Youth) for Grades 9-12. Parents are also welcome to join us and are invited to attend the Parent Bible Study with Pastor Josh.
Other special events include Family Fun Nights throughout the year when entire families of all ages are invited to join in activities; Kids in Mission for Age 4 through Grade 6 twice a year (Christmas themed during Advent in December and Easter themed during Lent); Bible School for Age 4 through Grade 6 in June; a BYG Camping Trip at Camp Mount Luther in July for Grades 3-6; participation in the John Bower Sunday School Basketball League (Kindergarten through Grade 12); and other activities as announced.
Youth Group – Grades 6-12 – meets weekly September through May from 5:30-7:30 p.m. (except for Second Sunday)
During the Summer months, a variety of special activities are scheduled.
